Recycling Center Hours in Thurmont

Effective on September 1, 2020, the recycling dumpster, as well as the oil recycling station will both be open in their new location next to the Thurmont Regional Library, adjacent to the Town of Thurmont Electric Substation at 70 East Moser Road.  To access the recycling center follow the roadway to the right of the library and then turn right into the gravel lot.  This is the same general location where yard waste dropoff is located each month so all recycling opportunities will now be in the same location.  Signs will be in place to provide direction to drivers.

**EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2015 ALL CURBSIDE GRASS CLIPPINGS MUST BE IN PAPER YARD WASTE BAGS.**

Curbside Grass and Leaves Pickup Has Stopped for 2021.  Curbside Pickup Will Begin Again On
April 4, 2022. Bagged grass clippings need to be at the curb by 6 a.m. on Mondays.  No animal feces and no bags over 40lbs.

The monthly yard waste dropoff will continue on the second Saturday of each month throughout the winter months unless inclement weather forces us to close.  The 2022 Yard Waste permits will be mailed to all residents and must be displayed when using the dropoff site. The yard waste dropoff site is adjacent to the Thurmont Regional Library on Moser Road.  Any questions, please call the town offices at (301)-271-7313.  Thank you.

During the mowing season, please see  2015 Yard Maintenance information from our Code Enforcement Officer.
