REGISTER TO VOTE!
You must be registered to vote in the town elections. Voters must be 18 years of age, a US citizen and a resident of Thurmont. Those currently registered for Town, County, State or Federal elections need not register. For those not currenlty registered, voter registration can be completed at the Town Offices at 10 Frederick Road by appearing in person and filling out an Application For Registration Of Voter. The town offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:00 pm. In addition to the regular office hours there will be two days with extended voter registration hours. On Monday September 10th and again on Wednesday Sept. 19th resident will have until 7:00 pm to register. The last day for voter registration will be September 21st. Those wishing to register for County, State and Federal elections will be able to obtain a separate registration form from the town offices. Absentee Ballots: Those wishing to vote by absentee ballot must submit an absentee ballot application form. This form is available at the town office or can be downloaded at the following link. APPLICATION FOR ABSENTEE BALLOT Open the form, print it and return the completed form in person or by mail to the town offices. Be sure to allow for mailing time when applying for an absentee ballot, you will be sent a ballot upon receipt of your application. Your completed ballot must then be received by close of business on October 1, 2007.
