Hello Thurmont, welcome to the second edition of the Official Web Site for the town of Thurmont.  The Media Commission has spent numerous amounts of time and energy to produce this new Web Site that we hope will provide our residents and visitors with information about our wonderful town.

As we have always said, this web site is a work in progress so please be watching for some useful updates. One of the things we will incorporate in the near future is the ability to download certain forms that residents may require for items that need a permit.

 We also started posting draft ordinances, which can be downloaded so the public can review them and provide input during the public comment portion prior to adoption.

 I also will post the draft budget on this site so the residents can see where the Board plans on spending you tax dollars.  It is critical that you have this information so you can show support or opposition to certain items we plan on funding.

 I will have the current fiscal year's budget (2004/2005) uploaded so when you get next year's draft budget (2005/2006) you can see the differences between the two.  Budget time is here and I am requesting that you attend the meetings so you can provide the valuable feedback we need to make budgetary decisions.

I am also going to have the charter of the town uploaded so the residents can have easy access to the document which governs how we operate.

 Please provide us with suggestions that we will consider to make this site as useful as possible to all of our residents and visitors.  I will try to keep this page new every month to provide as much information to all.  Thank You and welcome to thurmont.com.
