Chief Eyler

In a brief ceremony
on November 30, 2005
Greg Eyler was installed as the new
Chief of the Thurmont Police Department.
Mayor Martin Burns had the honor of administering the Chief’s oath in the
presence of a large group of family
and well wishers.

The Thurmont Police Department recieves two awards.
Chief Nee presented Mayor Burns with the 2005 Chiefs Challenge award at the Oct. 4th Town Meeting.  The Thurmont Police Department was again awarded this honor
“In recognition of outstanding contributions to lifesaving efforts resulting in Maryland’s increased safety belt use”.  The plaque was presented to the TPD by Governor Ehrlich.
The Chief also proudly displayed a medal awarded by the State of Maryland to
Sgt. Tyler of the Thurmont Police Department for his outstanding efforts in DUI enforcment.
