Commissioner Ron Terpko is currently organizing the Recycling Commission.  Anyone interested in serving on this Commission or in helping in any other
way should contact Commissioner Terpko or the Town Office.

The purpose of the Recycling Commission is to educate residents
about recycling and to encourage recycling in all homes.  The
commission will be made up of comminty volunteers and will
include student representatives from each school.

Currently, the Recycling Commission includes the following members:
Commissioner Ron Terpko - Pat Weddle
Donna Voelinger - Lisa Kerr - Ben Nardi

Additional volunteers are needed to help with this important project, please contact the Town Office or Ron Terpko if you would like to serve on this Commission.

These pages will have recycling information as well as tips and ideas
to help with recycling.  As has been noted at several Town Meetings,
there is going to be an increase in the costs associated with trash
pickup.  These additional fees are in the form of an increase in the
tipping fee that Frederick County charges for using the County Landfill.
The tipping fee is the price charged per ton of material placed
in the County Landfill.  All resident who participate in the recycling
program will help reduce these costs by lowering the amount and
weight of trash being sent to the landfill by the town of Thurmont.
