Commissioner Ronald A. Terpko

I am 38 years old. I am from Jeannette, Pa. It is a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pa., population 10,000. I met my wife Tina at college and we have been married for 17 years.

We have lived here in Thurmont for 10 years.

We have 3 sons, Ronald 13, Brandon 10, and Anthony 10. Yes I have twin boys.

I work for 7-Eleven, Inc. as a Field Consultant.

I served for 2 years on the Board of Appeals.

I served as Thurmont Little League President for 3 years.

My family and I volunteer extensively throughout the community with different groups and organizations.

I chose to run for office because I wanted to give back to the community. I also wanted to work on maintaining the small town atmosphere we have all grown to love.

As commissioner, I am directly responsible for the Parks and Recreation, as well as the Police Department.

Vision for Thurmont: To maintain the small town atmosphere, maintain a low growth agenda, and work to build on our downtown business area, while providing exceptional public services, and ensuring the best possible working relationship with our school system.

I also feel as a town, we need to offer the best possible services to the community and provide areas of recreational activity to all age groups.
I welcome all resident input and comments. Call me at 301-271-2821.
