Employment Opportunities within the Water and Sewer Department

Water Treatment, Distribution and Sewer Collection Foreperson

The Town of Thurmont, Maryland is seeking an individual to direct and coordinate operations of the town’s potable water and sewer collection systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining major goals and policies, formulating long term plans and programs, and directing and physically assisting subordinates in the maintenance and improvement of the water utility and the sewer collection system. Candidates should possess an associate’s degree in civil engineering with eight (8) years of increasingly responsible experience in the engineering, operation and maintenance of a water supply system and/or sanitary sewer system with at least three (3) years progressive experience in supervision of water and/or sanitary sewer systems. Salary range: $40,000, negotiable based in experience with excellent benefits.
