On August 2, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:30 p.m., the Thurmont Police Department
along with the Guardian Hose Company, Thurmont Community Ambulance Company,
and the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office will be sponsoring the first
“National Night Out” for the town of Thurmont.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness,
generate support for anti crime programs, and to strengthen Police and Community
support and partnership, and to let criminals know the neighborhoods

The Thurmont Police Department has grown over the years and this event
will help citizens of Thurmont get to know the Officers who protect the citizens of the town.
There will be handouts on crime prevention, bike safety, seat belt and child safety
seat laws, information on how to start a neighborhood watch program
in your area and other topics.

The Police Department will have Police vehicles on display along with vehicles
from the Fire Department, Thurmont Community Ambulance Company and
the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

Refreshments will be available and served by members of the Thurmont Police Commission. Please come to the Guardian Hose Company carnival grounds and meet the Thurmont Police Department and other organizations that support and protect the Citizens of Thurmont.
