The Town of Thurmont provides a wide selection of recreational opportunities each summer. Elementary school and middle school aged children can sign up for daily or weekly programs that originate at Thurmont Community Park. Children enjoy many different opportunities to get out into the parks and have fun! Thurmont's summer program, called "A Day in the Park" has been recognized by the Maryland Recreation and Parks Association (MRPA), receiving the Best Program Logo award in 2019.
