If you are experiencing an emergency fire, rescue, police, or emergency medical event, call 911.

​The Town of Thurmont and surrounding communities receive emergency medical services from the Thurmont Community Ambulance Service, Inc.  This department is staffed by a combination of career and volunteer emergency medical personnel.  The ambulance station located at 27 North Church Street houses multiple ambulances and a Frederick County Advanced Life Support Medic Unit.  The department utilizes an ATV that is set up for wilderness and mountain rescue operations, and provides medical services for special events. ​Fire and rescue services in Thurmont are provided by the Guardian Hose Company.  This combination career/ volunteer department was organized in 1887.  Structural and wildland fire suppression, along with heavy rescue services are provided by state of the art equipment and highly trained personnel.  For more information on this department or on becoming a member, go to www.guardianhose.org.
